I have led the full local IT team of a billion dollar retail company and my last role was IT Operations in New Zealand.

The skill and art of keeping a retail based businesses systems running is something that I’ve done for many years in many roles.

I’ve managed development in a DevOps style and rapid pace of change environment, also with legacy systems involved, and gone through the path of bringing in new technology to the business.

I have been involved running projects for the last 20 years, delivering services, software and hardare refreshes and replacements.

I have managed a small Technology team, providing high levels of service across the country.

Project Management Telecommunications Migration

Migration from Spark services to Vodafone and installation of new fibre into all locations.

Mobiles, landline from copper to SIP and network WAN to new fibre.

Parallel installation and network cutover.

IT Operations Manager

Reporting to IT Manager and responsible as 2 I/C. Managed IT infrastructure, operations and support across New Zealand.

Responsible for day to day operation of computer networks, support of system applications and software.

Systems Support and Programmer

System Support team  member, maintaining 40 stores arround the North Island with both Software and Hardware support. Primary focus moved to technical side, of LAN, servers and interface programs from User Support and programming.

Acquisition of Howard Smith

Benchmark Building Supplies (part of BBC Hardware) became part of Bunnings in 2001.

Wesfarmers acquisition of Howard Smith Limited for $2.7 billion, including its BBC hardware network, doubled the size of Bunnings and transformed it into an iconic national brand.
